Pacmen FC ties with Hollywood All Stars 1-1

Pacmen FC is a strong team, everyone present at the Santa Monica Airport field around 4PM last Sunday will agree to this. They dominate a good Hollywood All Star team for almost 90 minutes. They setup the rhythm and quickly had many opportunities to put the ball in the net. And just like 7 days prior they scored first with Mikey Meshure's 2nd goal of the season. After a brief moment of distraction from Pacmen, Hollywood All Stars came back and tied the game on their only real chance to do so. Pacmen FC has now 2 ties and needs a big W next week against Sports Harbour to truly start their season.

Pacmen FC starts their season with a tie

Sunday Feb 1st was the inauguration of the soccer season for Pacmen FC. Teammates and fans were all excited to get back on the field after a 4 months break and remember the good times from 2008.

The game vs. Old Boys quickly put the teams back in business and showed that no one was here on a holiday. Pacmen took control of the game in the very first minutes constantly pressuring and creating numerous occasions to open the score. After 65 mn Pacmen FC were up 2-0 with goals by Josh Lederer and Mikey Mesh (same scorer as their last 2008 game..hmm is that a good sign?). But In 2009, Pacmen FC will be the team to beat, and Old Boys were the first to show it after coming back and tie the game 2-2. In 2 years the Santa Monica league became one of the most competitive ones in Los Angeles, Pacmen knows it, and with a couple newcomers in their ranks they are more than ready to go and get that 2009 trophy...

Pacmen FC 2008 League Champions !!!

First season and first trophy for Pacmen F.C. The champions of the day created the show
Like most quality games, it came down to PK's... In the game, Pacmen F.C. came back to the score twice, showing lots of mental strength and team spirit. They became stronger as the clock was ticking and made a great come back in the final minutes of the game.
With an assist by Andrew Marinez, Mikey Meshures scored for the tie in the final minute. In the first half, Josh Lederer put Pacmen back in the game with a clean shot in between two defenders. The penalty kicks was just a formality for a Pacmen team full of confidence at that point.
Eamon Wisdom was the hero of the day when he blocked two shots in the penalty kicks. (more photos here)

Big Up to this great young team and we can't wait to see them back on the field next season.
